Cooking instructions:
Oven Cook From Chilled - If freezing at home, defrost thoroughly before cooking.
Before cooking, preheat oven to 180°C /Fan 160°C/Gas Mark 4 and preheat 5ml of oil in a frying pan. Add meat and approximately 400g of sliced root vegetables to the pan and cook until meat is brown on all sides.
Transfer to a heatproof casserole dish, add 450ml of beef stock and season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Cover and place in a preheated oven for 1½ to 2½ hours or alternatively over a low heat on the hob for 1½ to 2½ hours, stirring occasionally. Remove from stock to serve. Before serving ensure food is piping hot throughout. All cooking appliances vary. This is a guide only.
